A Message from Chuck Ferrero: Athletic Director

Dear Student Athlete:

We in the athletic department are pleased that you desire to be a Monarch. The decision to enroll in college and participate in a sports program is one of the most important decisions you will face in your young career. The intercollegiate competition provided for you will play an important role in your educational, social, and emotional development.

Los Angeles Valley College and the athletic program in particular are committed to facilitating your success in the classroom as well as on the field, court, or in the pool. You should continually be aware of the fact that the role of all institutions of higher education is, in fact, to produce good students and leaders of tomorrow. Our fine athletic staff and faculty are prepared to spend the extra time to assist you in achieving those goals. It is important, however, for you to know that excelling in the classroom only comes through exercising the same maturity and determination that you commit to your athletic endeavors.
