Occupational Certificate Programs
The Occupational Certificate is a sequence of courses leading to a specific area of employment. It is designed for those students who have limited time to pursue their formal education and who wish to specialize in a particular employment oriented area. Students may also complete work toward more than one of the programs; for example, an Occupational Certificate and an Associate Degree or a transfer program and an Associate Degree. The requirements for combined programs may include more course work than for a single program. Careful planning is essential to ensure that the program requirements of the chosen program(s) are fulfilled correctly in the shortest possible time. To help in such planning, students are urged to see a counselor and to consult with a faculty advisor in their proposed major as soon as possible during their first semester and regularly thereafter.
